Brian and I are pretty sure that Anna says "A-wa" when she wants water. Yippee! I think that puts her word tally up to four: agua, dada, bye-bye and moo (though they all sound a little different than the "proper" pronunciation). I'm still not sure she's saying doggy.
We had a great summer weekend June 21-22 with the weather all warm and sunny and Anne and Jay in town, plus TWO barbecues to go to. Big fun. Saturday we went to a very relaxing bbq with Sylvia, Anne and Jay. Syl's got a lovely backyard, and she and Anne made cevapcici (cha-vap-chi-chi), a Croatian sausage. Daddy. Hands down.
She cries when he leaves, she beams when she sees him. She gives him hugs without being asked. She cuddles with him. She loooooooooooooves him.
Brian says: That may all be true, but today, Jami left the house before me (rare), and Anna got just as upset. So she's not upset that someone's leaving; she's upset that you're not taking her with you.
Words, words, words. Anna clearly said "Ba-ba," while waving, to some of the moms today as we were leaving our get-together. And she points at Brian and says "Da-da" with regularity. We'll count these as words, too. Yay!
Brian says: As the more anti-coddling parent (not that Jami coddles -- much), I applaud the decision to get the camera rather than immediately "rescue" her from the chair. I'm absolutely certain that, had she fallen, she would have landed on that green ball.
