I'm thinking Anna may have broken the first-word barrier, finally, with the word "uh-oh." She says it all the time, but almost always in the correct context (she falls, or drops something). Lots of her little friends have multiple words, so I may be a bit overeager to find one coming from Anna, but I think this counts. We've also had people say they heard her say "Me?" to ask if she could have something, and "berry?" to offer a piece of fruit to someone. I'm not so sure on those (I didn't hear her say them). But "uh-oh" might be it. Brian's been working on "up," too. So, we'll see!
Our downstairs neighbors have a baby girl, too, named Maddie. She's about 6 months old, so she and Anna can't really play yet, but we still went to the park and out to lunch with them anyway. In another 6 months or so, they'll be chasing after each other.
Tori, the mom, took some cute photos of Anna. One at the park, and one after a disastrous mixed-berry snack:
This is the scene I came home to from work last night: Anna squealing and waving as she looked at Hawaii photos with Brian on the computer. So cute. Video is a little on the longer side for us, 2:45 or so, but it made me smile, so I think it's worth it. Makes me very happy that Anna loves photos! She recognized herself mostly, but also Auntie Annie, Uncle Gibby (that's Jay to most of us) and Niranda's little cousin, Emily, whom she had a fun time with at the wedding in Hawaii. Note: Watch the volume, she really gets riled up!
Anna's bordering on saying "uh-oh" and she's learning how to share. Take a look.
